Judy Kendall
Founder and Vice President of Advancement

Judy Kendall exemplifies the difference that ONE individual can make in the world. In 2006 she witnessed, just as millions of us did, the horrendous news stories of abandoned orphans in African countries. Have you ever been moved by a news story and thought — but how could I possibly help? Judy did think that but unlike most of us, she did something about it.

She quickly mobilized to travel to Zambia to see how she could help. It was then that she founded Anchor of Hope a non-profit organization that helped save the lives of hundreds of orphaned children.

Anchor of Hope, with Judy's leadership, serves children world-wide through programs for orphaned children, HIV-positive babies and children who were once doomed to live and die in squalor without love, attention, health care, adequate diets, or protection.

Judy continues to work each and every day to make sure that any child, regardless of health, ability, ethnicity or nationality, has the right to develop and grow in a loving environment. She is involved in every decision, presentation and fund raiser.  She leads by example and inspires by her determination and action.

Judy is determined to have every dollar raised go directly to the children. Volunteers work from a zero-budget position and search for every cost-saving measure in creating fundraising events. She is a cheerleader with enormous energy and always reminds those around her that the work is for the children who otherwise would have no hope. She brings out the utmost in creativity and generosity from everyone she meets and this allows for 100% of all donations raised to go directly to the projects supported by the organization that benefits children.
